The Film
Heinz Hoenig as Hinrich
In 1973, the qualified locksmith was working in Berlin as a streetworker for the anti-drug activist group Release when, by chance, he visited a performance of John Allen's "Theatre Of All Possibilities". Highly impressed by the performance, Hoenig swiftly decided to join the ensemble and undertook a comprehensive theatrical course in Santa Fe (New Mexico). On his return to Germany, he was engaged by Helma Sanders-Brahms at the Grips Theatre. Following a part in Reinhard Hauff's "Messer im Kopf", Heinz Hoenig got the part of radio operator Hinrich in "DAS BOOT" in 1981 and, like many of his colleagues, achieved his breakthrough. Since that time, his robust visage has been seen many times on TV, as well as in Dieter Wedel's serials "Der grosse Bellheim“ and "Der Schattenmann", as well as in the films of Dominik Graf: "Die Katze“ (1987), "Tiger, Löwe, Panther“ (1989) and "Die Sieger“ (1993).
